June 13 –  Locals of Kathmandu Valley on Thursday held a massive rally, demanding immediate withdrawal of the proposed Guthi Bill, which reached at the Bill Management Committee of the National Assembly .

Nepal has proposed the Guthi bill aimed at imposing to eliminate Guthi shareholders who have been operating the Guthi of several temples of the nation for years.

The locals, who protested under the call of the Lalitpur Struggle Committee, held the rally carrying placards and also encircled streets of core areas of Lalitpur .

Addressing the mass demonstration held in Mangal Bazar, held after the protest rally, various prominent leaders like Malla K Sundar, Rishi Prasad Shrestha, Naresh Tamrakar and others have demanded the Government to withdraw the Guthi Bil, as is drafted with a plan to improve on the existing Guthi practice, religion and culture of the nation.
