July 13- Meteorologists have asked the people to stay alert from probable disasters and keep oneself safe from the rain forecasting that monsoon would be active for two more days.M
Issuing a press note on Friday, Archana Shrestha, spokesperson and senior weather expert, said that this year’s monsoon that became active from Thursday would continue for couple of days.
“The continuous rainfall from Thursday in the hilly and plain areas has increased the risk of floods in the rivers, Shrestha said in the press note, urging one and all to keep oneself safe from the possible rain-induced disaster.
The monsoon came late this year but the country received heavy rainfall after 16 years, she added.
According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the heaviest rainfall at 311.9 mm was recorded in Simara on Friday.
Likewise, Janakpur received 245 mm rainfall and Dharan 155 mm today.
The monsoon became active across the country on Friday.
However, the department has recorded no rain in Dipayal, Dhangadhi and Jomsom on Friday.
