June 6 – The bhoto jatra is confirmed to mark on Jestha 26 as the chariot of Rato Machhendranath chariot reached today at Jawalakhel. The chariot of Rato Machhindranath and the Mimnath were pulled from Thatitole of Lagankhel to Jawalakhel this evening. After keeping the chariot in Jawalakhel for 3 days, there is a tradition to observe Bhoto Jatra, so the date of Bhoto Jatra confirmed for Jestha 26.
With the Bhoto Jatra the chariot festival will come to an end. It is an annual cultural cum religious ritual of displaying the black jewel-studded bhoto (vest) believed to be of then Nagraj, the serpent king. The head of the State attends the function.
